Sunset and Goodbye

Sunset and Goodbye
While contemplating sunset in the moment of assimilating goodbye
November 1, 2015

Sunset and goodbye –
Have colours highly contrasting,
Make horizons go dimming,
Both introducing the grace and beauty of silhouette’s being.

After sunset comes night evening,
Just as after goodbye is pain of missing.

Sunset’s best exhibition of its beauty
Only takes time very quickly.
Gaze at it, never blink an eye.
Follow the shades contrasting and dimming
Until you see everything disappearing.
That’s sunset – to sunrise’s beauty complementing.

So it is with goodbye,
Especially with short notices that just make you sigh.
Gaze at it, never blink an eye.
Let your eyes see and record all movements
That your heart may ponder and treasure these moments.
That’s goodbye – to hello’s beauty it complements.

Though it’s setting, it is still the SUN,
Though it is bye, it is still GOOD.

The evening night may be long or short
As missing pain can take long or short.
Just rest your hope in the hands of time –
The sun will rise and hello will smile
It’s just a matter of time,
Only a matter of God’s right and perfect time.

Nature – our Teacher

Nature – our Teacher

It’s amazing how nature teaches us so many things.
We, humans, think that we are better than the rest in everything.
But try to reflect on what this poem tells you.
Perhaps, it is God’s voice waking you up, too.

A lotus flower planted by God in dirty water
Blooms perfectly beautiful and unstained even with its surrounding.
That’s how we should be, children of the Father!
Despite the cruelty of the world, we should still remain pure and loving.

The depth of the roots is the height of a tree.
In order to grow a strong tree, one must nurture the roots – which are unseen.
Same is true with our lives; flesh and soul, we have the for free.
To look good outside is to have frequent nurturing of the soul which is unseen.

The wild flowers growing exquisitely nice in the wild
Are not cultured or taken care of my men but only but only by His hands so mild.
We, too, should not wastefully spend for beauty
Because me and you are taken care of especially by our God Almighty.

A lowly and ugly worm, with the right process and in the right time, turns into a lovely butterfly.
But it should survive the process and must be patient to wait for the right time to fly.
People, too, cannot be as successful and happy as they are
Without he trials and problems which form them to increase their capacity.

In the world of today, where commitment seems hard to spell
In our responsibility to our families, communities and partners as well.
Let us learn from the lives of the penguins themselves.
They are monogamous and are always willing to sacrifice their lives for their family’s sake.

Who greets the parents first on their arrival at home?
Is it the child with the phone or the dog with a bone?
Children, will you allow your dogs to be better than you at making your parents happy?
It’s not yet late, learn from them. Work now before your family’s relationship becomes lonely.

So what now my friend?
Think about the ‘help’ these immaterial creatures lend.
Thank God for His lessons and His presence are everywhere.
Now, we can never say that He is nowhere.

What dignifies the undignified? (a poetry of a life experience)

What dignifies the undignified?
October 4, 2015
As I went to San Agustin church to visit Fr Luciano, I passed by the destitute families along the way and
reflected on them during the mass

Have you seen them?
The families, the persons and the beloved there?
Wounds of society – stripped and bare
Even of dignity, they have none
Destitution: given or chosen one?

Wounds that make you helpless
Because the wounded is effortless –
Often hopeless, soaked in worthlessness
Just settling in ‘more or less’.

I asked, can I attend to those wounds?
If the Good Samaritan can, I also could.
What then dignifies? What heals wounds?
LOVE does, JESUS does!
And my communion with HIM in the Eucharist does!
It dignifies and heals in ways I know not
But in faith, I know, I believe and I’m convinced that it truly does!

a poetry born from INSPIRATIONS of BEAUTY in Art and Music through contemplative contemporary prayer

There’s a freedom in your arms
September 20, 2015
From the song I need you by Leann Rimes
Contemplating the free hand of Jesus in PIETA

Now, it’s not nailed
Though a mark of a nail remained.
I see it strong, really strong.
After all the hits, pains, wounds, bruises –
Veins become visibly clear.
A human arm, yes it is.
So like mine, so be it.

A carpenter’s arm,
A master’s arm at the same time
But now, looks like a lifeless arm –
An exhausted arm of fulfillment and victory.

I sense that it trembled,
How it felt fear.
Nonetheless, it embraced the wood
– it carried the cross, I mean.
Quite heavy, quite painful
The reality it truly signified.

Well done! You were never a mediocre arm.
Now, you rest as I live.
But please can I touch you? Can I feel you?
I just want to be held and to hold that arm
… and experience the life and the cost it paid.

“There’s a freedom in these arms,
Carry me through please…
I need you.”
