The Beauty of Truth

The Beauty of Truth
November 23, 2016

I long for the eyes
That see the beauty of Truth,
That behold what is true.

If only I could despise and scorn
All that’s untrue
And embrace anew, only the beauty of Truth.

It’s a hidden beauty you see
Something like a lotus bud
Beneath a stagnant, dirty pond.
Dauntlessly penetrating darkness and lies
Layer after layer from its depth up to surface
Unstained, reaching the sunrise’ ray
Gently, gracefully showing off her beauty,
Her core, her vulnerability.

Oh! Lotus, what firm petals you have!
Shielding, protecting your pollen, your core.
Just as how the virtues
Guarding to uphold the beauty of Truth
Against all mixture of lies, vices and deceit
In this densely saturated world.

Nevertheless, Christ crucified remains victorious
At the beginning of Truth…
That’s why Truth holds a kind of beauty untold.
Truth hurts because it crucifies the lie yet
Truth frees because He embraces the Beloved who lied.
